Of course layoffs are coming, only the blind utopian Left thinks otherwise.

When the initial Medicare subsidies dry up and employers are forced to cut costs, you think theyre going to take it out of their own pocket? Nope, its going to come in the form of layoffs. Since the federal government is broke and wont be able to pay their subsidy invoices, I’m going to give it six months to a year before the wheels come off.

When costs go up, the jobs go down.

  • grantadvocacy:

we will all have higher taxes no matter what.

so is it free health care or forced-pay health care?

  • Unka Dano:

We need more jobs by stopping the importation of goods not manufactured under the same labor and environmental laws as we have here. How can we effectively compete otherwise?

That’s the problem! Tweak the Davis-Bacon Act to apply internationally.

My dad owns a large small business (auto repair, etc…)

Has quite a few employees (over 50). We talked last night before the vote and he told me that

if it passed he would have to lay off a, minimum, of 5 employees. Possibly more.

Multiply that by the other businesses his size across the nation and that should answer your question.

If you read the bill you would know that now they can expand their business with the tax breaks from the health care bill.

  • malcolm tucker:

Small businesses under 50 employees are exempt.

  • Chupate esa!:

That’s great there is no better incentive to become your own boss than getting fired and with the tax cuts they have for small business there is no better time to become free and bring more competition to those who love to manipulate you…

Yes. Chairman Oba said unemployment would not improve.

  • gws35:

Yes, this is exactly what we have been warning all along.

Small businesses that are not providing health insurance benefits will have to cut jobs to avoid paying the fine.

But BIG businesses that are currently providing health insurance benefits WILL STOP PROVIDING THEM because the fine is cheaper.

THIS IS THE BONANZA BIG BUSINESS HAS BEEN DREAMING OF FOR YEARS – FINALLY ESCAPING FROM PAYING FOR EMPLOYEE MEDICAL BENEFITS.

Big businesss profits will be UP. The number of uninsured persons will go WAY UP.

And to celebrate, you can bet there will be pay cuts to “compensate for the fines” they will start paying.

THE ULTRA WEALTHY POWER ELITE WIN!

This was the plan all along folks.

    Big businesses WIN.

    Small businesses LOSE.

The people JUST TOOK ONE STEP CLOSER TO SERFDOM.

Oh, look. Another brick in the wall.

Take a good look at the new brick. It will be there for a LONG TIME.

Conservative fear mongers are out in full force today. I ought to just cut and paste this. Sounds a little like sour grapes. Try reading the bill for starters.
